DeLaurice A. “Dee” Carle

DeLaurice A. “Dee” Carle, (nee Wojtowich), 75, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness. She was born March 6, 1937 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident.

Dee worked as a registered nurse for 50 years, retiring from Mercy Regional Medical Center in 2011. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, a 1955 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, a member of the Oberlin Golf Club and was a recipient of the American Cancer Society Nurse Of Hope Award.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Richard “Jim” Carle; daughter, Jeanine Gamble of Zanesville; son, Rich Carle of Medina; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes (nee Shapko) Wojtowich. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 23, 2012, 4 until 7 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626. Closing prayers will be Friday, August 24, 2012, at 9:30 A.M., in the funeral home, followed by a 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Ave, Elyria. The Reverend Charles J. Ryba will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.
