Elyria police

Thursday, Aug. 30
8:52 a.m. — 600 block Midway Blvd., people at the Red Roof Inn report someone threw a chunk of concrete through a car window and stole a camera and a shirt for a dog. Blood was found in the car and police took a sample.
9:14 a.m. — 400 block High St., attempted break-in reported.
11:11 a.m. — 300 block Eighth St., someone tried to force open a storage garage with a pry bar.
1:08 p.m. — 100 block Pratt Blvd., domestic complaint.
2:30 p.m. — 300 block 13th St., police investigate attempted burglary after a woman found a screen door damaged.
2:40 p.m. — 15 Chestnut St., a man said he was punched by a man who claimed he owed him money outside Harr Plaza.
3:26 p.m. — 100 block Kaiser Court, police respond to domestic incident and charge Jessica Riggins, 21, of Elyria, with domestic violence.
3:32 p.m. — 7300 West River Road S., Debra A. Hyde, 52, of Elyria, charged with persisting in disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
3:45 p.m. — 1500 block West River Road N., $100 counterfeit bill found at Dunham’s after a man purchased a baseball cap.
5:23 p.m. — 200 block Stanford Ave., woman said someone tried to enter her home through a window overnight and let her cat out. Outside, she found several credit cards and items belonging to a neighbor, which she returned to the neighbor.
6:42 p.m. — 3000 Midway Mall, Tania L. Koutsopoulos, 31, of Elyria, charged with theft of six bras from Macy’s.
10:54 p.m. — 600 block Harvard Ave., man complains about threatening messages on Facebook.

Lorain police

Thursday, Aug. 30
12:03 a.m. —100 block W. Erie Ave., a manager at Subway said an employee reported that she was addicted to heroin and had to leave to go to rehab. The manager later realized the woman had not deposited more than $10,000 in July and August.
12:03 p.m. —100 block W. Erie Ave., Mark A. Riggins, 40, homeless, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct persisting and disturbing the peace. Police said Riggins came to the police station to file a report but became angry when he was told to sit and wait. Police said Riggins was shouting in the lobby, continuously pressing the intercom button and yelling at dispatchers.
1:48 p.m. —3700 block Omaha Ave., reported burglary. Police said the suspect pried a door open, and an Xbox 360 was reported stolen.
2:02 p.m. —100 block W. Erie Ave., a man reported that his vehicle was stolen while at his friend’s house. Police said the vehicle was later located at 6:09 p.m. as crashing into a bus on state Route 303 and Chamberlain Road earlier that morning.
10 p.m. — Reid Avenue and West Eighth Street, Kathryn M. Avalos, 42, 300 block W. 15th St., arrested and charged with solicitation. Police said Avalos waved an undercover officer down and exposed her breast to him. Police said Avalos then offered to perform sexual acts for $15.

Friday, Aug. 31
12:37 a.m. — 2300 block E. 37th St., reported burglary.
