Authorities in Ross County in southern Ohio are investigating the death of an Elyria area man whose body was found at a campsite at the county fairgrounds Saturday morning.
The man was identified as Steven L. Pruchinsky, 39, according to Mike Ratliff, a chief investigator for the Ross County Coroner’s Office.
Pruchinsky was found about 8 a.m. by others in a camping area of the Ross County Fairgrounds where there was an Easyriders motorcycle rally, Ratliff said.
“It’s a bikers’ rodeo that is held every year there,” Ratliff said.
Ratliff declined to offer other details about the man’s death or the circumstances under which he was found.
It was not immediately known whether Pruchinsky was alone at the event, Ratliff said.
“All I can say at this point is that this is still under investigation, but there does not appear to be any signs of foul play,” Ratliff said.
According to the Chillicothe Gazette’s website, the body of a man later identified as Pruchinsky was found by Ross County sheriff’s deputies who were called to investigate reports of an unresponsive man who was found slumped over in a chair.
The newspaper said deputies found “several drug paraphernalia items at his feet.”
Ratliff declined to comment when asked about the reports of drug paraphernalia being found near Pruchinsky.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office, according to the Gazette.
