Arthur H. Houts, Jr., 64, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly Sunday September 2, 2012, at EMH Healthcare in Elyria. He was born April 9, 1948 in Cleveland.
Art served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He retired in 2006 from USG Interiors, following 38 years of service. Art enjoyed watching Westerns on TV, and trips to Amish country.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Beverly A. (nee Enia); two daughters, Denise M. and Shelly L. Houts, both of Elyria; and a sister, Sue Shubert (Dennis) of Elyria.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur H. Sr. and Winifred (nee Anderson) Houts; a sister, Sheryl Wohlever; and a brother, Michael J. Houts.
Friends may call 4 until 7 P.M., Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, where funeral services will be at 7 P.M. Wednesday, immediately following visitation. V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
