Friday, Aug. 31
2:27 a.m. — 11100 block state Route 301 and U.S. Route 20 in Carlisle Township, Scott Thiessen, 37, 9300 block Saybrook Drive, North Ridgeville, arrested and charged with drunken driving. Police said the rear tail lights of the car Thiessen was driving were out after it left the Brass Pole at 639 Oberlin-Elyria Road. They said Thiessen admitted to drinking a “couple of beers” and failed a field sobriety test. Thiessen registered a blood alcohol content of 0.165, twice the legal limit, in a Breathalyzer test.
Sunday, Sept. 2
2:08 p.m. — 1300 block East Ave., resident said apartment burglarized with $800 in cash stolen from purse hidden in bedroom closet. Entry believed to be through front door with faulty dead bolt. Resident suspects homeless man who is a friend of her boyfriend and stayed the night on Wednesday and Thursday.
2:14 p.m. — High Point Apartments, 2425 West River Road N., resident said $600 bicycle stolen from parking lot outside of Marc’s at 435 Midway Blvd where bike was left unlocked in parking lot.
Monday, Sept. 3
3:55 a.m. — Pudge’s Place, 305 Broad St., owner of a Saab convertible with an Indiana license plate said it was stolen from a parking lot.
Friday, Aug. 31
8:06 p.m. — Broadway and West 23rd Street, William Stull Jr., 43, 3900 block Reid Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with drunken driving. Police said Stull was stopped driving 45 mph in a 25-mph zone and admitted to having four rum and Cokes. They said he failed a field sobriety test and his blood alcohol content was 0.185, more than twice the legal limit.
Saturday, Sept. 1
3:29 p.m. — West 34th Street and Oberlin Avenue, Nicola Wade, 38, 1500 block Herbert Drive, Lorain, arrested and charged with resisting arrest, assault, menacing and disorderly conduct. Police Officer Juan Rodriguez wrote in a report that he found Wade passed out on the ground and when he woke her she tried to run into traffic. Wade became combative after being handcuffed and threatened a LifeCare paramedic who had arrived to treat her, according to Rodriguez. While being booked at Lorain City Jail, Wade is accused of kicking a female police dispatcher who had been trying to search her. The dispatcher sustained a bruised left knee.
Sunday, Sept. 2
3:04 a.m. — West 21st Street near Beech Avenue, Charles Lowe, 3800 block Dayton Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with drunken driving, speeding and driving with a suspended license. Police said Lowe was stopped for driving 55 mph in a 35-mph zone and failed a field sobriety test.
6 p.m. — Dale’s Sports Bar, 3680 Pearl Ave., woman, whom police said was drunk, said she was repeatedly punched in the face and head by two women who accused her of selling bath salts to their sister, who recently died from an overdose. The woman did not seek medical attention.
Monday, Sept. 3
12:09 a.m. — 1600 E. 29th St., Aaron Parker, 28, 3100 block Victory Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon under disability, tampering with evidence and carrying a weapon while intoxicated. Police said Parker, who has convictions for involuntary manslaughter and possession of drugs, tossed a pistol from his waistband when confronted by an officer. They said Parker is also wanted on a warrant in Maryland.
Thursday, Aug. 16
3:54 a.m. — 500 block Hazelwood Ave., David John Green arrested and charged with two counts of criminal trespassing and one count of possessing criminal tools. Police were sent to a home from a report of a suspicious man hiding in the woods across the street. Police said after an investigation, Green was found to be the perpetrator.
4:42 p.m. — 4700 block Timberview Drive, reported damage to a vehicle.
Friday, Aug. 17
1 a.m. — 4800 block Liberty Ave., police were sent to Speedway for a man who ran inside, claiming to be carjacked. Police located the man, later identified as James E. Gibelyou, who was found to be involved in a motor vehicle crash. Gibelyou was cited for reasonable control, failure to report an accident and making false reports.
Saturday, Aug. 18
11:35 a.m. — 4300 block Linda Drive, reported burglary to a home. Police said several items were taken, and an investigation was started.
11:03 p.m. — 4300 block Linda Drive, reported breaking and entering of a garage and vehicles overnight.
Sunday, Aug. 19
9:30 p.m. — state Route 60, Taco Bell, Matthew Novak, 20, arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they were called to assist with a call of three males walking on state Route 60, possibly throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Police later found three men walking near Taco Bell, one of which was Novak.
Monday, Aug. 20
9:02 a.m. — 4900 block Pineview Drive, reported burglary.
12:08 p.m. — 900 block State Street, reported burglary.
2:20 p.m. — 4900 block Hollyview Drive, reported burglary.
11:28 p.m. — 200 block Claremont Road, reported burglary. Police said nothing was reported missing.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
12:20 a.m. — 5500 block Liberty Ave., Shannon Moore arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, open container and resisting arrest. A caller told police two females were standing outside of the Lake Erie Taphouse, and one had thrown up and left the area. Police found three syringes and two bar receipts on the curb, and later identified Moore as one of the women. Police found a cup containing an alcoholic mixed drink and prescription bottle belonging to another person in Moore’s car. Police said Moore bit an officer during her arrest, and she was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
2:01 a.m. — 4700 block Pine Oak Drive, reported burglary in progress. Police said the intruder left prior to an officer’s arrival.
11:37 p.m. — 3700 block Edgewater Drive, reported theft of several items from a garage.
