He looked good running in individual drills and practicing blitz pickup. He wore a sleeve on his left knee following arthroscopic surgery Aug. 9. He returned to practice Monday.
Coach Pat Shurmur expects him to start Sunday in the season opener against the Eagles, and Philadelphia coach Andy Reid doesn’t expect a drop-off because he missed the entire preseason.
“He’s a heck of a football player, so that’s what we’re expecting,” Reid said in a conference call with Browns media. “You talk about a guy that was a great college player.
“He’s built for the NFL game, so we know with him you’ve got size and speed, toughness, quickness, and you better wrap him up and make sure that you tackle well with him.”
Tight end Jordan Cameron (undisclosed), safety Eric Hagg (flu) and running back Chris Ogbonnaya (ankle) returned to practice.
On the bike were: offensive linemen John Greco and Oniel Cousins and linebacker James-Michael Johnson.
