Samuel Thomas Branscum, 73, of Oberlin, passed away at New Life Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born July 23, 1939 in Delta, Kentucky.
He worked for many years as a Drywall Contractor. Samuel enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Branscum of Oberlin; son, Tom E. Branscum, of Blandford, Massachusetts; daughters, Backy A. Figueroa of Lorain and Debbie L. Barber of Dallas, Georgia; four grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Sells of Sheffield Lake and Lesty Reaser of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Branscum; mother, Laura Branscum; grandson, Brandon Branscum; brothers, Willard Branscum and Fordie Branscum.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin. Funeral service will be Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
