ELYRIA — A Wednesday night crash sent two to the hospital, according to Elyria Assistant Fire Chief Ron Brlas.
Firefighters responded to 363 Oberlin-Elyria Road for a Ford Explorer that had crashed into a house. The driver, whose name was not available, lost control over railroad tracks near Rural King and flipped the vehicle.
Brlas said the woman and a passenger were flown by LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. The passenger was out of the vehicle when rescue crews arrived, but the woman had to be extricated. Brlas said firefighters pried open the door, which took 21 minutes.
The victims’ conditions were not available, but Brlas said the driver was conscious and alert during the rescue. The home was severely damaged during the crash.
