Edward E. Miller, 83, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at EMH Healthcare, following a brief illness. He was born September 23, 1928 in Coats, North Carolina, and was an Elyria resident for 31 years.
Ed worked at the Ford Motor Co. in Brookpark for 40 years, retiring as a utility man in 1994. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Ed was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Elyria, where he formerly served as a deacon. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Kandah, Kim Burdette and Doris Hock of Cleveland, and Theresa Kratzer and Shirley Bruce of Brunswick; son, Randy Miller of Columbia Station; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Butts of Coats, North Carolina, and Edna Phipps of Durham, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madelean in 2002; grandson, Bradley Bruce; and granddaughter, Katie Burdette.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 38550 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Service will be Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the church. The Rev. Darrell Myers, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp.
