Frances Eileen Begley (nee Conrad), 78, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born October 28, 1933 in Elyria to Frank and Rose (nee Laug) Conrad.
Eileen was a 1952 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, and had worked for the C.A. Olsen Company, and the Pat Henry Co. doing food demos in local grocery stores. She was a homemaker for many years, and enjoyed sewing and handicrafts. Eileen was a familiar face at the spring and fall craft bazaars in Lorain County. She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Elyria.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Joseph J. Begley, whom she married September 26, 1959; four daughters, Barbara Almas (Ted) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nancy Wood (Tim) of Vista, California, Carolyn Sheriff of Vista, California, Patricia Begley of Elyria; and a son, Joseph P. Begley (Christine Bracken) of Elyria. Additional survivors include six grandsons, Justin and Eric Sheriff of California, Travis and Angelo Begley of Ohio, Kyle and Kevin Almas of Virginia; and a nephew, Michael Conrad.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diane Katherine Begley; three sisters, Rosemary Cvetkovich, Ruth Conrad, Ann McKee; and two brothers, Charlie and Fred Conrad.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday, September 7, 2012 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, 440-322-4626, where closing prayers will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, September 8, 2012 with the funeral Mass at 10 A.M., at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
