Tuesday, Sept. 4

7:30 a.m. — 200 block Eastern Heights Blvd., burglary.

2:22 p.m. — 200 block Washington Ave., burglary of an apartment. Police said a television was stolen.

7:45 p.m. — 100 block Warden Ave., Erica V. Rogers, 21, same address, arrested and charged with assault. Rogers’s friend said Rogers bit her in the arm after she confronted her about her drug use. Police said the woman had a red bite mark on her arm, and Rogers’s boyfriend told police he witnessed Rogers bite her friend after she pushed him.

9:10 p.m. — 100 block Beebe St., a 16-year-old girl arrested and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and escape. Police said the runaway was found hiding under a bed in a home and tried to dive out of the window when officers found her. Police sprayed the girl with a burst of pepper spray and she was detained but later slipped out of her handcuffs. She was found behind a home in the 100 block of Marseilles Ave.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

12:01 a.m. — Foster Avenue and Jefferson Street, Richard L. Collins, 53, 500 block Walnut St., issued a citation for assault. A man told police Collins had struck him with a beer bottle at Settle Inn and ran. Collins admitted to striking the man with a beer bottle because he was “talking (expletive)” about his daughter.

1:09 a.m. — 100 block Fox Chase Drive, reported burglary to a trailer. A woman told police her DVD player and $225 in cash had been stolen.

5:20 a.m. — 1000 block Barbara St., John Mitchell, Jr., 50, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Mitchell’s girlfriend said Mitchell punched her during an argument. Police said the woman’s eye and forehead were swollen and bruised. Mitchell denied hitting his girlfriend and said she scratched him in the neck.

Saturday, Sept. 1

3:29 p.m. — West 34th Street and Oberlin Avenue, Nicola Wade, 38, 1500 block of Herbert Drive, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting, disorderly conduct intoxicated, menacing, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest. Police said Wade was sleeping on the side of the road and was intoxicated. Police said Wade threatened LifeCare personnel and kicked a police officer after she was arrested.

Wednesday, September 5

8:35 a.m. — 1100 block of Root Road, a woman told police her 11-year-old son saw a white man with short blond hair looking at him through his window. Police said a path of foot prints was visible leading from the area to a vacant home near the residence.

5:21 a.m. — 200 block of E. 32nd Street, reported stolen vehicle. A man said he left his keys under the driver’s seat of his vehicle, and the car was missing the next day. The man told police he believed the suspect who stole the car was a man he gave a ride to Dairy Mart that day. He described the man as a 20-year-old black man, approximately 230 pounds and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, wearing a red hat and white T-shirt. He said the man told him his name was Chris.

Thursday, Sept. 6

12:09 a.m. — Reid Avenue and West 17th Street, Derrick J. Cantu, 26, 1100 block of West 29th Street, arrested and charged with failure to control, driving under the influence and driving under suspension. Police said Cantu struck a telephone pole and admitted to drinking that night. Police said Cantu’s breath test result was a .200 percent, and Cantu said he did not have a driver’s license due to a drug suspension.

Sunday, Aug. 19

4:30 p.m. — 300 block Prospect Street, dogs escaped from property and dug up flowers.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

2:30 a.m. — Hendrix, Adam Park, 28, Cleveland, arrested on a warrant.

2 p.m. — 200 block Taylor, burglary complaint. Someone entered the home through an open garage door and stole cash money from a wallet and change from a closet.

3 p.m. — 200 block Rundle Street, two residents reported that someone entered their vehicles and stole items.

Friday, Aug. 24

3:50 p.m. — North Center Street, report of a possible drunken driver. Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered that the driver was not drinking but had dropped her cell phone.

8:35 p.m. — IGA parking lot, juveniles fighting. Officers located their mother who stated they were “just playing.”

Saturday, Aug. 25

12:15 p.m. — IGA parking lot, owner chased a shoplifter into the parking lot. Officers located Matthew Banak, 31, Cleveland, in the parking lot of Dollar General where he was charged with theft and tampering with evidence.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

11:57 a.m. — 100 block Harvest Court, domestic dispute.

4:56 p.m. — 100 block Parklane Drive, Jennifer Brletic, age unknown, arrested on a Lorain Police Department warrant after calling police to help her open her locked vehicle.

8:41 p.m. — 100 block Public Square, John Bar-oz, 32, LaGrange, arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, Aug. 29

7 p.m. — 400 block US Grant, Samantha Gibson, 24, Elyria, an employee of Campers Cleaners, was charged with theft. She admitted to taking a credit card and iPod from two residences while she was cleaning.

Thursday, Aug. 30

7:40 p.m. — 100 block Parklane Drive, officers observed a large amount of smoke coming from a backyard where they found a man was burning two mattresses. He was advised to put out the fire.

Friday, Aug. 31

10:15 p.m. — North Center, Steven Esber, 51, North Ridgeville, charged with driving under influence, no rear illumination and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, Sept. 1

5 p.m. — Dollar General, Josh Reaser, LaGrange, arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

6:50 p.m. — Public Square, assisted rescue squad after a man stated he “needed a ride to detox.”

Thursday, Aug. 16

10:37 a.m. — Main Street, Nancy’s Diner, customers left the restaurant after waiting an hour for their meals. They never got served so they left and “the owner wasn’t happy and took her license plate number” as they pulled out.

11:46 a.m. — Hunting Hollow, vandalism to backhoe.

7:31 p.m. — Parsons Road, man lying on the side of the road. He was OK, but needed to take a break because he had been out riding his bike all day.

11:39 p.m. — Main Street, Greenbriar Apartments, disturbance from loud arguing, banging and stomping.

Friday, Aug. 17

7:57 a.m. — Landmark Mill, vandalism.

11:48 a.m. — 1000 block Yarmouth, rear license plate stolen.

12:36 p.m. — Main Street, suspicious man and woman walking around, asking for money. They were advised to be on their way through town and not stop at any establishment unless they were dining or making a purchase.

3:30 p.m. — Erie Street, dirt bike rider on property.

Monday, Aug. 20

12:48 a.m. — Willow, juveniles were playing football in the street and being too loud.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

10:29 p.m. — Sunshine Court, loud bang that sounded like “a gun shot.”

Thursday, Aug. 23

7:10 p.m. — Sunshine Court, firecrackers going off.

Friday, Aug. 24

2:05 a.m. — Commerce Drive, homemade skateboard ramps built on vacant property.

8:09 p.m. — 1000 block State St., a woman requested an officer assist her on shutting off her smoke detector. She blew a candle out for her birthday and it activated the alarm. There was no fire.

Sunday, Aug. 26

5:11 p.m. — Wellfleet, a juvenile reported that a motorist leaving the street was driving away shouting obscenities.

Wednesday, Aug. 29

11:57 a.m. — Willow, theft of jewelry.

7:32 p.m. — 1000 block Wellfleet, barking dog. Owner advised to take it in for the night.

11:27 p.m. — Shelby, unwanted restricted phone calls were being made to a cell phone. They were advised to change the cell phone number.

Friday, Aug. 31

9:37 p.m. — Cleveland Street, report of a man walking on the railroad tracks and being loud. He was advised to stay off the railroad tracks and to “keep his singing down.”

Saturday, Sept. 1

2:11 p.m. — Main Street, McDonald’s, young juveniles seen pushing a wagon through town. Caller thought they were “a little young to be playing on the busy street.”

Sunday, Sept. 2

9:34 p.m. — 1000 block Wabash, vehicle covered in Saran Wrap, ketchup and toilet paper.

11:48 p.m. — 1000 block Wabash, ketchup on hood of a truck.
