Lee Drake, 84, of Wellington, left this earth Wednesday, September 5, 2012. He was born December 26, 1927, in Clendenin, West Virginia.
Lee served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a Pipefitter at GM Fisher Guide, Elyria. He was a member of UAW, American Legion Post #8 in Wellington, and Ohio Woodland Steward Program through OSU. Lee was an avid conservationist, hunter, and outdoor enthusiast. He loved taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren hunting on his property in West Virginia.
Mr. Drake is survived by his son, Larry (Patricia) Drake of Mayhill, New Mexico; daughters, Vicki Denes of Wellington and Pam (Melvin) Velez of Live Oak, Florida; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Ronnie Drake of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Emma (nee Tawney) Drake; wife, Clare (nee Ashley) Drake; son, Lee Drake Jr.; brothers, Hobart, Billy, Charles; sister, Mildred Smith; son-in-law, Jim Denes; grandson, Chris Denes; and close friend, Anna Dittmer.
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
