Betty E. Adams (nee Jones), 73, of Elyria, died Friday, September 7, 2012 in her home, surrounded by family, after a long illness. She was born April 24, 1939 in Pulaski, Virginia and has been a resident of Elyria since 1958.
She was formerly employed at General Motors Fisher Guide in Elyria, she was an active member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Elyria, where she taught Sunday school, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe F. Adams; daughters, Sherry Richardson of Homerville, Ohio, Priscilla Elaine Barnett of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Belinda (Andrew) Laubenthal of Sullivan, Ohio and Betty Jo (David Jr.) Hockney of Fredericksburg, Virginia; son, Timothy (Sally) Ray of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister, Norma Edwards; and brother, Marvin Jones, both of Pulaski, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Ella (nee Rowling) Jones; and brothers, Junior, Bill and Lee Jones.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 38550 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035, where a funeral service will be 11 A.M. Monday, September 10, 2012. Pastor David A. Hockney, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
