LORAIN — A homeless man was arrested after several customers and an employee of Drug Mart said he sexually harassed them.
At 5:36 p.m. Wednesday, police were sent to Drug Mart, located at 2253 Colorado Ave., for a man approaching people in the parking lot making sexual innuendos. Two women at the store said the man, later identified as Jaimie Bowers, 44, told them he “would to (them) what (their) husband(s) should have.”
One woman told police Bowers started taking off his shirt and grabbed his crotch. She said she was frightened and ran to her car, drove away and called police.
An employee of Drug Mart said while she was working in one of the aisles, she accidentally bumped into Bowers. She said after apologizing, Bowers said, “You can make it up to me later.”
Police found Bowers sitting on a metal box outside the store. Bowers denied the complaints against him and said the women were all lying.
Because of the complaints, the manager of Drug Mart told Bowers he was not welcome on the property anymore and had to leave. Police said Bowers then became angry and walked into the parking lot, stuck his arm above his head with his middle finger up and began yelling. Police said Bowers then placed one palm on his crotch and the other fist on top of his hand, simulating grabbing his genitals.
Police arrested Bowers and charged him with disorderly conduct persisting and transferred him to Lorain City Jail.
