Harry was employed by NASA as a mechanical engineer for 25 years. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, a 1980 graduate of Padua High School, earned his bachelors degree from Kent State University, earned his masters degree from Cleveland State University and enjoyed flying remote control airplanes.
Survivors include his children, Stephnaie, Melissa and Thomas Decker, all at home; aunt and uncle, Tom and Terry Olszeski of Parma; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Debbie Baumbich of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Renee’ (nee Baumbich) in 2011; and his mother, Katherine Decker.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Monday, September 17, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Charles Ryba and the Rev. Frank Kosem, Pastor, will be the Celebrants. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made for his children’s scholarship fund at any Lorain National Bank branch.
