Browns trail 24-17 heading into 4th after 2nd Richardson TD

CINCINNATI – The Bengals took the opening kickoff of the second half and marched 80 yards in seven plays to expand their lead over the Browns.

But the Cleveland defense stiffened and rookie running back Trent Richardson scored his second touchdown of the day to pull the Browns within 24-17 heading into the fourth quarter.

Richardson, who has 101 yards rushing on 16 carries, took a dump pass from rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden and rumbled 23 yards. Three Bengals had a chance at him, but he made them miss or broke their tackles.

It was Weeden’s first NFL touchdown, including the preseason.

Linebacker D’Qwell Jackson set up the scoring drive with a diving interception of a pass tipped by cornerback Dimitri Patterson. Jackson is having a huge day.
