WELLINGTON — Two teens were taken to hospitals after they fell off the back of a pickup truck this weekend at the LaGrange Engine Show at the Lorain County Fairgrounds.
According to Capt. Jim Drozdowski from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, a report on the incident won’t be available until tomorrow.
The only information he had was that two Future Farmers of America volunteers were riding on the tailgate of a pickup truck picking up trash when they fell off and were injured at 7:12 p.m. Saturday.
Assistant Chief Bill Brown at the Wellington Fire Department said the victims were 14-year-old and 17-year-old males.
Brown said one of the teens was LifeFlighted to a Toledo hospital, and Drozdowski said the other was taken to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin.
Neither Brown, Drozdowski nor a representative of the South Lorain County Ambulance District could provided the boys’ names or any additional information about their injuries.
