Airport security head pleads not guilty to indecency and harassment charges

ELYRIA — The manager of airport security at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has pleaded not guilty to telephone harassment and public indecency charges, according to Elyria Municipal Court records.

Dialinos

John Dialinos, 45, is accused of making obscene phone calls to North Ridgeville tanning salons last month and masturbating outside one of the stores in December.

He has been placed on unpaid leave from his job while the criminal case is pending against him.

Dialinos had been scheduled to make an initial appearance in court today, but his attorney filed the not guilty plea on his behalf Monday. Dialinos will not need to appear in court today because of the filing, according to court officials.

North Ridgeville police began investigating reporats of a man making lewd calls to local tanning salons in December after a manager at one location complained about someone calling and asking legitimate questions before making obscene comments, moaning and breathing heavily.

A salon worker also reported seeing a man, later identified as Dialinos, masturbating outside her salon in December.

Police said the calls went on throughout the past two years, but a phone found in Dialinos’ possession when he was stopped by North Ridgeville police Aug. 27 had only been active since February. That phone only listed the numbers of tanning salons in the western suburbs in the contact list, according to police.

Dialinos may have made similar calls to tanning salons in other communities, and North Ridgeville police intend to turn that information over to police departments in those cities.
