LORAIN — An arson fire that burned a pickup around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday in the driveway of a home at 3401 Pickett Road is under investigation by police.
The Ford F-150 was fully engulfed when police arrived, according to a report by police Officer John Kovach. A witness said she heard what sounded like a window being broken right before the fire and saw a heavyset man running south on Pickett after the fire broke out.
The fire spread to the home before being extinguished by firefighters, Kovach wrote.
Resident Michael Elek, whose wife, Jennifer Elek, owns the truck, said he believes the arsonist may be a neighbor with whom he is having problems.
