David E. Gower, 64, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 in Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada, after a short illness. He was born May 15, 1948 in Oberlin and was raised in North Ridgeville.
He was a 1966 graduate of North Ridgeville High school. David studied Philosophy at Miami University and University of Toronto. David moved to Canada in the late 60′s where he was the publisher of wood working magazine and owner of a computer data base company.
He is survived by his wife, Francesca Groves and son, Nigel Gower; other children include Simon (Lauren) Mahoney, Sarah (Jake) Thompson, Justin Mahoney; grandchildren, Georgia Mahoney, Webster and Willa Thompson; he is also survived by his mother, Edna L. Gower (nee Farnsworth) and siblings, Duke of North Ridgeville, Denise (Stephen) Tharrett of Texas, Dirk (Julie) of North Carolina and Daniel of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth E. Gower in 2001.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Toronto, Canada.
