Eunice T. Edwards, 84, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her home, after a long illness. She was born October 27, 1927 in Coatopa, Alabama.
She was a graduate of Elyria High. She worked selling cosmetics at Higbees for many years. Eunice was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin and served as the Church Clerk, and sang in the Choir. She was a member of the NAACP. She enjoyed travel and spending time with family and close friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse J. Edwards of Elyria; daughters, Dorothy A. Edwards of Riverdale, Maryland, Jessica L. Edwards of Columbus; sons, Larry Edwards of Manhattan, New York, Anthony D. Edwards of Suffolk, Virginia, Thomas J. Edwards of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Jones; mother, Margaret Matthews; and son, Ronald P. Edwards.
Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2012 from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Oberlin. Rev. Fred L. Bell will officiate. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
