Terry R. Taylor

Terry R. Taylor, 66, of Avon Lake, and formerly of Pemberville, Ohio, passed away at his home Wednesday, September 19, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Terry was born September 26, 1945 in Fremont.

He graduated from Eastwood High School in Pemberville in 1963, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from BGSU in 1967, and received his Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in 1972. He taught briefly in the Lorain City Schools, worked for numerous social service agencies including Scioto Village, Franklin County Children’s Services, and the Grafton Correctional Facility. Terry coached his son’s T-Ball team in Avon Lake in the late 1980s and spent countless hours assisting chemical dependency and AA organizations with the treatment and recovery process of people with addictions.

Terry was a loving husband to Ada (nee Everhardt); devoted father of one son, Elliott of Avon Lake; and brother of Trudy Davies of Pemberville.

He was preceded in death by his father, O. Stein Conaghan (1983) and his mother, Alvena Conaghan (nee Johnson) (1995).

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 11 A.M., until time of services at 1 P.M. Reverend Paul Peters will officiate. Burial will be private at Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon.
