David L. Worcester, 73, of Elyria passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange following a long illness. He was born November 11, 1938 in Valparaiso, Indiana and was a Elyria resident for most of his life. David was a teacher with the Elyria Public Schools for 31 years, retiring in 1991, and was a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia (nee Litke); son-in-law, Steve Burkey; sisters, Linda (Eddie) Kotecki of Sagamore Hills and Marcia (Tim) Widman of Elyria; brother, Keith (Nancy) Worcester of Silver Lake, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Gross of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Worcester-Burkey; and a son, Scott David Worcester. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Service will be Wednesday, September 26 at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Janet Long will Officiate. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
