Gary L. Ward, 60, of Oberlin, passed away at his home Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born June 16, 1952 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Gary was a graduate of Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio and attended Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio where his focus was engineering and design. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1972 – 1976 in Vietnam and also Indochina and Korea and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation. He was a certified automotive technician and an E-Bay enthusiast.
Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darla C. (nee Hart); and parents, (Chester and Helen Mae (nee Van Meer) Ward of Springfield, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 6 P.M. in Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Jonathan McCleery officiating.
