LORAIN — Six businesses sold alcohol to an underage informant during an underage drinking sting of 30 Lorain businesses on Friday.
The businesses — 611 Market at 1550 Colorado Ave., Rite-Nau Beverage at 2331 Colorado Ave., Sunoco at 3105 Oberlin Ave., Liberty Gas at 2436 Broadway, Marathon Gas at 3040 Oberlin Ave. and Chapman’s Food Mart at 2625 W. Erie Ave. — were found to be non-compliant. Police issued a citation to the clerks of each store for the offenses.
It was the second time a clerk at Chapman’s Food Mart committed the offense, according to Lt. Mark Carpentiere.
The results of each sting are sent to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control, who will review each case and may take further action.
