Susie Mayneida “Neida” Nolen, 82, of Elyria went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital of Lorain following a long illness. She was born in Ripley, Tennessee coming to Elyria 60 years ago.
Mrs. Nolen was a Domestic Engineer for her family. She was a member of True Vine Primitive Baptist Church in Elyria where she served as Usher, Kitchen Committee, and the Mothers Board. She enjoyed cooking, games, gardening, the Flea Market, enjoyed her family and friends, and dressing up.
She is survived by daughters, Mary F. Lowe, Jean Nolen, Shirley Nolen, all of Elyria, and Denise Flemmings of Maryland; sons, Robert Gause, James (Evette) Allen Nolen, all of Denver, Colorado, Paul Nolen of Lorain, Anderson Nolen, Jr. of Elyria, James Whitlow of Detroit, Michigan; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; sister, Lavada Maben of Elyria; brother, Clarence Gause of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husband, Anderson Nolen, Sr., February 2012; parents, LC and Florence Gause; daughters, Elnora Nolen and Patricia A. Nolen; son, Eddie Nolen; grandson, Paul Nolen, Jr.; and granddaughter, Natashia S. Lowe.
Friends may call Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon in the True Vine Primitive Baptist Church, 737 W. 18th Street, Elyria, Ohio where the Rev. James Furcron will officiate and burial in Brookdale Cemetery.
