Christine L. Smith (nee Mihalis), 54, of Camden Township, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home. She was born March 5, 1958 in Elyria, was a 1976 graduate of Elyria High School and worked as a self employed real estate appraiser in Lorain County.
Christine led a holistic lifestyle and was a certified yoga instructor. She was a natural soap artisan and an avid gardener, growing lavender for various products that were displayed at The Oberlin Farmers Market. She enjoyed the outdoors, vacationing at the ocean, hiking and gemstone mining.
Christine is survived by her husband of 15 years, John H. Smith; daughter, Tara J. Easton; son, Evan M. Smith; grandchildren, Calista and Harper; sisters, Cindy Gibbons of Elyria, Jennifer Bishop of Avon, Jean Toth of Clearwater, Florida and a brother, David Mihalis of Clearwater, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephan and Jean Mihalis; and a brother, Stephan Mihalis.
Friends will be received Friday, September 28, 2012 from 6:30 to 8 P.M. at Peace Community Church, 44 East Lorain St., Oberlin. Friends will also be received Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10 A.M. until the time of a 10:30 A.M. celebration of life service at the church, with Reverend Steve Hammond officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be donated to a charity that will compliment Christines life.
