
James O. Manges, 81, of Elyria, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville. Mr. Manges was born March 31, 1931 in Somerset, Pennsylvania and made his home in Elyria for most of his life.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was employed as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Elyria for 38 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1079 and the American Legion, Post 12. Mr. Manges enjoyed woodworking, especially making clocks for others.
Surviving him are two sons, Douglas (Debbie) Manges and Scott Manges, both of Elyria; and one granddaughter, Ciara Manges.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy A. (nee Barron) in 2003; two sisters, Sue Gage and Lucille Kelley; two brothers, Bob and Fred Manges; and his parents, Harry and Sally Manges.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. Funeral service will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial with full military honors, provided by the VFW, Post 1079, will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
