Margaret Catherine Carpenter

Margaret Catherine Carpenter, 89, of Grafton, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 in her home. She was born November 14, 1922 in Strongsville, and graduated from Berea High School in 1941. Margaret’s family then moved to a farm in Grafton Township.

Margaret had many hobbies and jobs in her lifetime. She started out as a beautician and loved her job at Buehler’s Bakery in Medina for many years. She loved to fish, bowl, roller skate, ride motorcycles, boating and spending time with her family. Many years were spent traveling with harness horses supporting her husband, Dean William Carpenter.

Margaret leaves her sister, Catherine Todd (nee Botsch) and family, sister- in-law, Ramona Arnold and family; she also leaves four sons, William Dean of Grafton, James Lee of Galveston, Texas, Dean Allen of Grafton, and Thomas Charles of Columbus; she is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean William Carpenter; parents, Catherine and Martin Botsch; brothers, Raymond and Martin; and sister, Hildegarde Welsh.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6 to 9 P.M. with funeral services Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the funeral home at 11 A.M. Rev. Dennis Barta, Pastor of Grace Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Middleburg Hts., will officiate.
