Peter M. Linden, age 56, passed away after a lengthy illness at the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center. He was born April 6, 1956 in Elyria and was a 1974 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He lived in Elyria for the past five years, moving from North Ridgeville.
He is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria. Peter worked as a chef at Eddies Chalet West for 25 years. Not only a chef by trade, he enjoyed cooking and baking for his family at home. An avid reader, he also enjoyed reading cookbooks, the newspaper and especially poring over Sundays grocery coupons. Described by his family as a “social butterfly”, his good sense of humor and friendly personality won him many friends. Always outgoing, Peter truly enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sally (nee Hunt); daughters, Tiffany Linden and Amanda (Charles) Lewis, all of Lorain; granddaughter, Emma Lewis of Lorain; father, Carl Linden of North Ridgeville; brothers, Dale (Norma) of North Ridgeville, Mark (Fran) of South Carolina, Allan (Laurie) of North Ridgeville, Matthew (Betty) of Grafton and Eric Linden of Olmsted Falls; and sisters, Shirley Moore of North Ridgeville and Joyce (Wayne) Hayes of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (nee Schuster) Linden; and brother, David Linden.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 3 until 8 P.M., in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 9:30 A.M., in the funeral home, followed by 10 A.M. Mass at St. Peters Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Bob Franco will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
