The North Ridgeville man accused of taking weapons to an August showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Westlake has been found sane, according to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records.
Prosecutors had requested that Scott A. Smith’s mental state at the time of the incident be evaluated. The results of the evaluation were announced Monday in court.
Smith faces charges of carrying concealed weapons and having weapons under disability and remains on house arrest at his Emerald Drive home.
His attorney has previously said Smith took the loaded pistol, ammunition and four knives to the Regal Cinemas theater as protection because of the mass shooting that took place at a midnight showing of the movie in Aurora, Colo., in July.
