Wallace “Wally” M. Davis, Sr., of Elyria, passed away peacefully in the Cleveland Clinic, following a short illness. Mr. Davis was born in Minter Alabama, coming to Elyria 47 years ago from Birmingham Alabama.
Mr. Davis was employed as a machine operator for Ridge Tool Industry in Elyria, before retiring in 1985. Mr. Davis was also employed by the Elyria Foundry. Mr. Davis was a member of Mt. Olivet Alliance Church of Elyria.
Mr. Davis enjoyed helping people, working on cars, cooking. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Annie R. Davis of 48 years; daughters, Jackie Davis of Elyria, Joyce Ragland of Alabama, Jenifer Arnold of Lorain and Janeen Davis of Cleveland; sons, Jimmy White of Alabama, Mack Davis of Commerce, Texas, Andre Davis of Cleveland, Tyrone Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; 21 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Eartha Hudson of Elyria, Cola Vee Thrash of Alexandria, Virginia; brothers, Gennie Davis, Jr. of Minter, Alabama, Benjamin Davis of Phaeokee, Florida, Melvin Davis of Haynes City, Florida, Wille Earl Davis of Mobile, Alabama, Calvin Davis of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Gennie, Sr. and Bessie Davis; three sisters and one brother.
Friends may call Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Mount Olivet Alliance Church, 626 Lorain Blvd., Elyria and Friday, October 5, 2012 from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. The Reverend Joseph Gause will officiate services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Garden, Avon.
