Browns RB Trent Richardson misses practice for birth of 3rd child

BEREA — Rookie running back Trent Richardson missed practice today to attend the birth of his third child, coach Pat Shurmur confirmed. Richardson has two daughters, Taliyah and Elevera, and is expecting a son.

Shurmur expects Richardson to play Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Giants.

“This will not affect his game status,” he said. “He had a great week of practice.”

Richardson has started all four games and leads the team with 64 carries for 222 yards (3.5 average) and three touchdowns. He also leads with 15 catches, for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Montario Hardesty and Chris Ogbonnaya took his spot with the first-team offense during practice.
