Donald C. “Bim” Reisdorff

Donald C. “Bim” Reisdorff, 77, of Eaton Township, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at home, following a long illness. He was born January 9, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska. Bim treasured spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a self employed farmer and had worked as a plumber. Bim was a former Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Man of The Year, where he was co-founder and Past President of The Junior Football League. He enjoyed farming, reconditioning farm equipment, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alyce M. (nee Barber); four daughters, Diane M. Reisdorff of Sheffield Lake, Vickie J. Cook (Dave) of Columbia Station, Cindy M. Vegh (John) of Amherst, Kathleen A. George (Ron) of Lakewood; two sons, Dr. Earl J. (Jane) of Okemos, Michigan, Robert H. (Lori) of Avon. Additional survivors include 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Demont (Jerry) of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother, Richard of Elyria. Bim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Erma (nee Mathews) Reisdorff.

Friends may call 1 until 4 P.M., Sunday, October 7, 2012, at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria (440) 322-4626, where funeral services will be at 10 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2012. Deacon Pete Banks will officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
