Thursday, Oct. 4
10:53 a.m. — 100 block West Ave., reported theft of a purse from Grenadier bar earlier that morning.
8:42 p.m. — 300 block East Ave., several witnesses in an apartment building reported that a woman was being assaulted in an elevator by a man. Police said the woman was crying and holding her left arm. The woman told police the man assaulted her because she had been arrested by Cleveland police, and the man was mad someone else gave her a ride home.
Friday, Oct. 5
1:20 a.m. — 100 block Bohannon Court, Michael R. Harris, 41, 200 block Washington Ave., arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Patrick M. Calloway, 27, 300 block Belmont Ave., arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct by intoxication. Police were called to the area for a light-skinned black male, covered in tattoos, who was reportedly waving two guns around. Police found Harris, who was banned from the Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority area, and repeatedly asked him to leave but he refused. Police arrested Harris and then saw Calloway, who matched the description of the suspect. The mother of Calloway’s child said she heard Calloway yelling outside then come in the house searching for something. She allowed police to search her home, and officers found a revolver, 9 mm bullets, a marijuana blunt and a plate with cocaine residue. Police said Calloway had several drug-related convictions since 2004.
5:28 a.m. — 100 block Princeton Ave., Ross Stahl, 26, 200 block Pamely Ave., and Jeffrey B. Carson, 29, 700 block Broad St., arrested and charged with breaking and entering. Police were sent to the area for a suspicious noise coming from a vacant home. Police said a window of an unattached garage was removed and Carson and Stahl were hiding in the garbage in the garage.
Lorain police
Thursday, Oct. 4
9:02 a.m. — 900 block G St., three cars were reportedly entered and ransacked. The suspect then entered a garage by using a garage door opener in one of the vehicles. A purse and a cell phone were reported missing.
5:25 p.m. — 400 block W. 12th St., Brenda J. Songer, 59, 1100 block W. Eighth St., arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and weaving. A witness told police Songer almost struck her vehicle head on at Meister Road and Ashland Avenue. Police said Songer refused to take a breath test, but she admitted she was drunk and could not stand up. Police said an intoxicated passenger was given a ride home.
