EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The usually slow-starting Browns sprinted to a 14-point lead today at MetLife Stadium and led 14-7 after the first quarter over the New York Giants.
The Browns are looking for their first win after four losses to open the season.
The game couldn’t have started any better for Cleveland. Cornerback Sheldon Brown recovered an Ahmad Bradshaw fumble on the first play from scrimmage.
Rookie running back Trent Richardson quickly turned it into a touchdown with two runs for 22 yards, including a 15-yard score.
After the defense forced a punt, Brandon Weeden connected with rookie receiver Josh Gordon for a 62-yard touchdown. Gordon ran by linebacker Chase Blackburn and Weeden made a great throw. It was Gordon’s first career touchdown.
The Giants answered with a 92-yard touchdown drive in which quarterback Eli Manning picked on nickelback Buster Skrine.
