Karen J. Kocan (nee Jabbusch), 70, of Lorain, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Oak Hills Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness. Born January 24, 1942 in Lorain, she lived here her entire life.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1960 and Lorain Cosmetology School. Karen was employed at several local beauty shops as a hairdresser and cosmetologist for 45 years. She had also worked at Lorain Products as a clerk. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lorain.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Kocan of Mentor and Dean Kocan of North Ridgeville; brother, Kenneth Jabbusch of Elyria; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ann (nee Kolody) Jabbusch.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 4 until 7 P.M., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 A.M. Reverend Father James Becherer will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
