Theresa L. Cabrera (nee Little), 59, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Ames Family Hospice House, in Westlake, after a lengthy bout with cancer. She was born February 20, 1953, in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Theresa earned her GED and attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lorain where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and at several area nursing homes for six years. After that, she worked at Republic Steel and U.S. Steel in Lorain as an Expeditor, Team Leader and Crane Operator in the pipe mill for 24 years. Theresa was very family oriented and enjoyed entertaining, cooking, knitting and staining glass.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Juan Cabrera of Lorain; children, Tony Coviello of Boca Raton, Florida, Fallon Meade of Amherst and Rian Meade of Sheffield Lake; four grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Little of Lorain and brother Hiram “Kenneth” Little of Fremont, California; and sisters, Denise Monos of Amherst and Sandy Buice of Columbus, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Margaret Little (nee Conley); brother, Gary Little; and sister, Debbie Little.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October, 10, 2012, 4 until 8 P.M., at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October, 11, 2012, at a time to be announced at the International House of Praise, 4321 Elyria Ave, Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
