Tina D’Agostino was found guilty today of multiple charges in the shooting of her boyfriend at their Sheffield Lake home in 2010.

Her convictions include felonious assault with a three-year gun specification, domestic violence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She was acquitted of a count of theft involving the truck she used to leave after she shot Steven Augustus.

Judge Christopher Rothgery sentenced her to eight years in prison. Her attorney said she will appeal.

D’Agostino was unrepentant in her remarks to Rothgery.

“Judge, I told you the truth of what happened between Steve and I,” she said. “I am no longer with my abuser. I am free and clear of that, so anything that comes now I can handle.”

In sentencing D’Agostino, Rothgery noted she failed to take responsibility for her actions and showed no remorse. He added that the gunshot caused serious injury to Augustus, who lost a kidney.
