Karen M. (Mrs. C.) Capasso (nee Alaimo), 54, of Elyria, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a long illness. Karen was born May 6, 1958 in Cleveland and lived in Elyria for the past 30 years.
She was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School, member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and was employed as a custodian at Elyria Catholic High School, where she enjoyed being around the students. She loved the Amish culture and enjoyed gardening, flowers, nature, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Richard A. Capasso; daughter, Chastity Bright of Lorain; sons, Jason Bright of Lorain and SSGT. Justin Ackroyd, stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and seven grandchildren; she is also survived by her sister, Denise Alaimo of Amherst and brothers, Johnny Alaimo of North Ridgeville and Tony Alaimo of Florida.
Karen was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Bright; brother, Richard Alaimo; and her parents, Charles and Genevieve Jean (nee Markus) Alaimo.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. Funeral service will be in the funeral home Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11 A.M. with the Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor of St. Jude Church, officiating.
