Thursday, Oct. 11

2:40 a.m. — 38500 block Chestnut Ridge Road, reported breaking and entering of Chestnut Laundry. Police said the cover to a bill changer was pried off, money was taken.

Lorain police

Tuesday, Oct. 2

8:01 p.m. — 800 block Lexington Ave., a woman reported seeing two men dressed in black run from her mother’s vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. A wallet containing $40 in cash, a debit card and a driver’s license was taken.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

9:31 a.m. — 200 block E. Erie Ave., theft from several boats at Gene’s Marine Sales.

11:30 a.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., a man reported he was robbed on Saturday by a man he was drinking and watching television with at a friend’s house. The man said the suspect began arguing with him, pulled a knife on him and stole $270 out of his pockets.

2:21 p.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., a man reported that his vehicle was stolen but returned to his garage with scratches on it. The man said a portion of his bumper was found against a fire hydrant in front of his house.

8:43 p.m. — 1400 block Hebert Drive, Angel Perez Jr., 44, homeless, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting and disorderly conduct intoxicated. A woman told police Perez wouldn’t leave her apartment and was becoming argumentative and aggressive toward her. The woman said she just met Perez two days ago, but the two had been drinking beer since 11 a.m. at her apartment. Police said Perez was uncooperative with officers, yelling profanities, and Perez was so intoxicated, he urinated on himself. Officers took Perez to the hospital because he was too intoxicated to be booked into jail.

11:44 p.m. — 1000 block Lexington Ave., Jeffrey B. Gaines, 56, 4200 block Ashland Ave., arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, seat belt violation, left of center, display of dealer plates and driving under suspension. Police said Gaines had two prior operating vehicles impaired convictions — in 2000 and 2001.
