Robert L. “Bobby” Baker, 44, of Amherst, died in his home on Thursday, October 11, 2012. He was born February 19, 1968 in Elyria. Bobby lived most of his life in Lorain; he moved to Amherst one and a half years ago.
He graduated in 1987 from Southview High School. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy for Desert Shield/Desert Storm and in the U.S. Army for Iraqi Freedom. He was a proud Fire Fighter and Deputy Sheriff. Bobby was a Life Member of VFW, Post 1662, Amherst, a Life Member of the North American Hunting Club, a member of the NRA of America and The American Gunsmithing Association. He was an avid Steelers fan who liked his guns, playing with his dog, Jade and working on cars.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Mary Baker-Miller and Ronald J. Miller of Amherst; daughters, Sheri Laurenti, Charlene Baker and Jennifer Baker, all of Lorain; brother, Jason L. Miller of Wellington; grandchildren, Hailey, Gabriella and Makayla; and his high school sweet heart and long-time love, Charlene E. Damron of Lorain.
Family and friends will be received in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Ave., Lorain, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 8 P.M. Reverend Dr. Bradley Donahue will officiate. Burial and full military honors by the VFW, Post 1662 will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
