At 1:54 a.m. Saturday, police controlled a fight at the Brickhouse Bar and were then sent to disperse a large crowd of 50 to 60 people in front of Gil’s. Police said the crowd left the area when officers arrived, but Thomas jumped out of his vehicle and started yelling obscenities.
Police said Thomas tried to take his shirt off, but it got stuck on his head. He then yelled to officers, “I don’t give a (expletive) about the police. (Expletive) the police.”
Police said Thomas then approached officers with his fists clenched. Officers fired a Taser at Thomas, but he came at them again, pulling his arm back as if to punch an officer, police said.
Thomas was again Tasered and fell to the ground, where he remained until he was taken into custody.
Police said Thomas had prior felony convictions for aggravated robbery.
