David Lee Dower, Jr.

David Lee Dower, Jr., 36, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1976, in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident.

David previously worked as a dietary aide at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon and as an assembler at Watteredge Inc. in Avon Lake. He was a graduate of Clearview High School and enjoyed football, wrestling, cooking, boxing, UFC events and spending time with family and friends.

David is survived by his wife, Lekicia Hughes-Dower of Lorain; sons, DeAndre Dower, Eric Smith, RaeKwon M. Smith and David Lee Dower III, all of Lorain and DeVaughn A. Jackson of Indiana; daughters, DaeJah A. Dower of Columbus and Davianna P. Dower of Lorain; father, David Lee Dower, Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky; stepmother, Rose Dower of Lorain; sisters, Lametra Dower-Allie of Saginaw Michigan and Pam “Perm” Dower of Lorain; stepsister, Valerie Howard of Avon; stepbrother, David Overton of Kentucky; three nieces, a nephew, a great nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah L. Dower; and his grandparents, William and Lumetra Ewing.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 20, 2012, from 10 A.M., until time of funeral service at 12 Noon, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave., Lorain 44055. Pastor Steve E. Robinson, of City of Deliverance Ministries in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
