Tuesday, Oct. 16
7:53 a.m. — 1200 block West River Road N., reported burglary to Cherry Ridge Golf Club. A manager told police it was the second time the business was burglarized, and the thief broke into the boarded up business, stealing cash from an unlocked safe.
12:30 p.m. — West River Road North, Le-Vaughn Blair, 19, Lorain, arrested and charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct persisting. Police said Blair was sitting in the lobby of the Life Skills Center, playing loud, profane music on his iPod. An officer reportedly asked Blair to turn the music down, and he shouted, “(Expletive) the police” several times, running from police around Office Max and across Griswold Road, stopping traffic. Police arrested Blair after he jumped into his mother’s car.
12:58 p.m. — 1800 block Lake Ave., reported theft of a bicycle.
6:03 p.m. — 600 block East Ave., reported burglary of a home. A neighbor did not report seeing anything suspicious.
11:20 p.m. — 800 block West Ave., Jevon Pitmon, 37, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Pitmon’s wife said Pitmon grabbed her arm as she was leaving the house after an argument. She said Pitmon also threatened to punch her in the mouth. Police said Pitmon’s wife had a bruise on her arm and a red mark near her neck. Pitmon has two prior domestic violence convictions, according to police, and officers were called to the couple’s home numerous times.
Wednesday, Oct. 17
7:08 a.m. — 400 block N. Abbe Road, reported burglary of Twilight Boutique. An employee told police cash registers containing $60 were missing, as well as a shipment of potpourri. Police said the thief entered through a window that had been boarded up after a burglary Oct. 4. The employee told police a customer told her someone had bragged to him about breaking into the store, which he said was “the easiest break-ins he had ever done.” The suspect reportedly came back to the store later, wearing all black and carrying a black trash bag. Police are investigating the incident, and no arrests were made at the time of the report.
7:48 a.m. — 100 block Sante Fe Court, reported theft of $200, belonging to the North Ridgeville Historical Society, from a locked vehicle.
8:25 p.m. — 200 block Market Drive, Maureen E. Gallagher, 53, 200 block Gulf Drive, arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police arrested Gallagher for stealing several packages of steaks from Giant Eagle and concealing them in her purse. Gallagher apologized for taking the steaks, saying she did so on a dare. Police said Gallagher had a stem, push rod and Chore Boy, used for smoking cocaine, and they tested positive for cocaine residue.
Thursday, Oct. 18
2 a.m. — 600 block East River St., a man reported that he was assaulted while searching for cigarette butts behind St. Andrew’s Church on Middle Avenue. The man said it was at 12:30 a.m. when a someone, wearing all black clothing, started slashing him with an unknown sharp object. Another person, wearing dark clothing, yelled, “You little (expletive)” and punched him in the head. Police said the man had small cuts to his left forearm, but no visible injuries to his head. The man walked to EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria and said the attackers did not take anything from him.
Lorain police
Tuesday, Oct. 16
1:30 p.m. — 1000 block Washington Ave., resident said home burglarized between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with camera, cash, knife and prescription pills worth a combined $1,083 stolen. The resident’s boyfriend said he left a door to the home unlocked and police said there were no signs of forced entry.
9:04 a.m. — railroad tracks at Washington Avenue, James Pennington, 4800 block W. Erie Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. Police said after being warned not to walk on the tracks, he returned to them and screamed at police, “Are these the tracks?”
10:45 a.m. — Ultimate Auto, 1319 Colorado Ave., employee said a car, CD player from car and catalytic converter from car stolen overnight.
1:30 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., resident said three pistols and 44 other items were stolen on Oct. 7 from his trailer home in the 3900 block Reid Ave. The resident suspects a neighbor from the trailer park is the thief.
3:07 p.m. — 900 block W. 13th St., woman said car she parked at her mother’s house two weeks ago had the passenger side tires slashed.
Wednesday, Oct. 17
12:11 a.m. — 1800 block E. 34th St., resident said home burglarized between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. with two guitars and a speaker with a total value of $1,300 stolen. Entry appeared to be through a window where the air conditioner was pushed in.
