Kenneth R. Brown, 62, of Greenwich, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a long illness. He was born February 6, 1950 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was a LaGrange resident for most of his life.
Ken was employed by the Ford Motor Co. in Brookpark for 30 years, retiring from the Maintenance Department in 1999. He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Freedom Christian Fellowship in Norwalk, the American Legion Post 30 in Lorain and was the vice president of the Lawn Bowling Club and enjoyed aquatic activities.
Survivors include his wife of six years, Janice (nee Whitcomb); daughter, Raynae (Chuck) Danchick of Burbank, Ohio; son, James Brown of Troy, Ohio; grandchild, Alyk Brown; and mother, Bernice Brown of Oberlin.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Ann Brown; and his father, Ollie Brown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Roy Harles will officiate. Burial will be at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange, where members of V.F.W. Post 451 and American Legion Post 30 will conduct full military honors.
