Two people remain hospitalized after motorcycle rider strikes teen

LaGRANGE TWP. — Two people who were LifeFlighted following an accident Friday remain hospitalized.

Gregory K. Yuronich, 34, of Grafton is in good conditions, and Jose Magiste, 17, is in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

According to LaGrange Township Fire Chief James Rader, Magiste was crossing the road at his home in the area of 17856 Indian Hollow about 7 a.m. Friday to get a newspaper when he was struck by Yuronich, who was on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Buell motorcycle.

Rader said Magiste was incoherent, so he couldn’t ask him what happened. Magiste was LifeFlighted from the scene, Rader said.

Yuronich, who was on his way to work, was taken to EMH Regional Medical Center to meet with LifeFlight, Rader said.

Rader said Yuronich was thrown from his bike and had facial injuries but was alert and talking at the scene. Magiste had possible head and shoulder injuries, he said.
