Mildred “Millie” Marie Helton Brammer (nee Pruett), 62, and a resident of Amherst, died Monday, October 22, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in Delaware on March 16, 1950, to the late Joseph F. and Mildred M. (nee Vance) Pruett.
She was a supervisor at the former Lithonia Down Lighting in Vermilion. Millie was an avid television sports fan and loved her Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed flower gardening. Most of all, Millie’s pride and joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children, Jennifer L. (Keith) Fisher of Ashley, James L. (Jennifer) Helton, Jr. of South Amherst, Jason L. (Merenda) Helton of Vermilion; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Polly (Dave) Spangler of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her grandson, Alexander Helton.
Family will receive friends Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
