ELYRIA — A man told police he was robbed by several people carrying handguns while he was walking on Rosewood Drive to his apartment.
At 12:33 a.m. today, police met with the 20-year-old victim in the 800 block of Rosewood Drive. The man told police he was walking on the sidewalk that runs between 820 and 864 Rosewood Drive when he heard yelling behind him.
The man said several people, wearing dark clothing with their hooded sweatshirts hiding their faces, ran toward him carrying what appeared to be handguns. The unknown people then reportedly knocked him to the ground, stealing $10 in cash from his wallet and a back pack containing an HP lap top.
The suspects reportedly fled toward Georgetown Avenue, and the man told police, while he did not see their faces, he believed them to be black men.
Police said there was no evidence at the scene and no witnesses to the robbery.
