LORAIN — Robert Starr — accused of hiding heroin — is facing charges but walking easier, according to police who performed a body cavity search on him.
Starr, 19 of the 1400 block of West 18th Street, was charged Wednesday with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegally conveying drugs.
Starr appeared to be dealing drugs from a car in the Walmart parking lot at 4380 Leavitt Road around 8:50 p.m., according to a report from Officer Matthew Sedivy, who was working drug surveillance duty in an unmarked car.
Sedivy said that while frisking Starr, he felt a bulge between Starr’s buttocks. He said Starr pulled down his sweatpants and removed a bag of heroin from his anus.
Sedivy wrote that he warned Starr that if he was concealing any more drugs he would be charged with illegal conveyance, and Starr denied having any more drugs. However, a strip search at the Lorain City Jail revealed Starr had an additional bag with 9.4 grams of heroin in his anus, according to the report.
Starr pleaded not guilty Thursday in Lorain Municipal Court. He is due back in court next Nov. 1.
